Dr Cathy Zhao

Specialist Dermatologist

Dr Cathy Zhao is a dermatologist, Mohs surgery specialist and award-winning researcher with expertise in the treatment of skin cancer.

Dr Zhao is a Procedural Staff Specialist at Liverpool Hospital, where she leads the Complex Skin Cancer Clinic and manages patients with challenging skin cancers. She is also a Visiting Medical Officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where she teaches dermatology trainees dermatosurgery.

Dr Zhao completed a Master of Medicine at the University of Sydney, following her graduation from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery and a Master of Science in Medicine, undertaken with a scholarship. She subsequently completed a subspecialty fellowship in Mohs surgery, gaining advanced training in highly precise surgical techniques for the treatment of skin cancer.

Dr Zhao is also highly competent in medical dermatology and has extensive experience in managing all dermatological conditions.

Dr Zhao has authored more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. She was nominated for Young Australian Woman of the Year for her dedication to teaching, research and community work.
