Dr Leo Kim
MBBS FRACS (Plast) Specialist Plastic & Reconstructive SurgeonDr Leo Kim is a Sydney-based specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a subspecialty focus on skin cancer reconstruction and eyelid surgery. He has performed more than 6,000 facial reconstructions and works closely with dermatologists, Mohs surgery specialists across Sydney, providing same-day and staged reconstruction following skin cancer excision.
His special areas of interest include reconstruction of the face, nose, ears, lips and eyelids following skin cancers and Mohs micrographic surgery as well as reconstructive/aesthetic eyelid surgery; local flap and skin graft reconstruction; surgical management of complex and high-risk skin cancers; and scar optimisation.
Dr Kim completed his medical degree and specialist plastic surgery training in Sydney, obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, followed by further overseas experience in the United States and South Korea. He has authored peer-reviewed publications and a plastic surgery textbook chapter (McGraw-Hill), and he taught dermatology registrars through the Australian College of Dermatologists for a decade.
He is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee of The Skin Hospital, and operates at The Skin Hospital (Darlinghurst and Westmead), Bondi Junction Private Hospital/St Lukes Hospital, and North Shore private hospitals. He consults at North Sydney Dermatology and Sydney CBD, welcoming referrals for skin cancer reconstruction, eyelid surgery and general plastic surgical assessment.
