Dr Supriya Venugopal

Adult and Paediatric Specialist Dermatologist

Dr Venugopal is a specialist adult and paediatric dermatologist. She is fully trained in all aspects of medical and surgical dermatology and has further subspecialised in paediatric dermatology.

Having completed her medical degree from UNSW, Dr Venugopal completed a Masters of Medicine from the University of Sydney, Fellowship from the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD), and a PhD focusing on blistering skin conditions from UNSW. Dr Venugopal has trained and worked at St George Hospital, John Hunter Hospital, The Skin Hospital, Westmead Public Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital.

In addition, Dr Venugopal has completed a paediatric dermatology fellowship from the Children’s Hospital Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital networks. During this fellowship, she also completed rotations at Guy and St Thomas Hospital in London and Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver. Supriya is a member of the Society of Paediatric Dermatology and a consultant at the Children’s Hospital Westmead.

Dr Venugopal is interested in teaching and furthering her own knowledge in the upcoming advances in medical and paediatric dermatology. Dr Venugopal has published in several peer-reviewed journals, both locally and internationally, and has presented at various domestic and international conferences.

Dr Venugopal is actively involved in training dermatology registrars. She is a director on the board and a consulting specialist dermatologist at The Skin Hospital.

Dr Venugopal is passionate about her work and prides herself in providing the best possible care to her patients. She is especially passionate about caring for children and ensuring that children and parents are cared for in a loving and warm environment. Supriya is happily married and is blessed to be a mother to her beautiful son and daughters.

Dr Brian Wallace

Specialist Dermatologist

Dr Wallace is a specialist dermatologist and is fully trained in all aspects of medical and surgical dermatology. He has a keen interest in the management of skin cancers both surgically and non surgically.

Dr Wallace completed his medical education at the University of Sydney and was a student at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Dr Wallace completed his Fellowship from the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD). Prior to his medical studies, he completed a BSc(Hons) and a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Sydney. Dr Wallace’s dermatology training was completed at Concord Hospital, St Vincents Hospital, John Hunter Hospital and Westmead Hospital. In addition, Dr Wallace has completed numerous placements in rural NSW.

Dr Wallace has significant expertise in the management of skin cancers. He was a contributor to the Australian Melanoma Guidelines published in 2008.

Dr Wallace has a keen interest in research and has published in various peer-reviewed journals, both locally and internationally, and has presented at various domestic conferences.

He is a senior lecturer (clinical) at The University of Western Sydney and teaches suturing workshops for final year medical students. Dr Wallace also teaches dermatology to medical students at The Skin Hospital, Westmead where he also works as a specialist dermatologist.

Dr Wallace is dedicated to the best possible care of his patients and seeks to ensure patients benefit from the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatments available. His proudest achievement is being a father to three wonderful children.

Dr Yong Chern Kho

Specialist Dermatologist

MBBS (Hons), MMed (ClinEpi), FACD

Dr Kho is a specialist dermatologist who has an interest in the early diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, management of acne, psoriasis, eczema, blistering diseases, and general medical dermatology.

He graduated with Honours in Medicine from the University of New South Wales, having trained at Prince of Wales Hospital, St George Hospital, Bankstown Hospital, and Liverpool Hospital. Dr Kho won prizes during his training for best oral presentation at the St George Hospital Symposium, a travel grant from the Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association, and the Dean’s List from the University of New South Wales for his outstanding contribution to research.

Dr Kho undertook his internship, residency and senior residency at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Canterbury Hospital and Broken Hill Base Hospital. While in Broken Hill, he had the opportunity to be involved in outreach clinics with the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Subsequently he went on to obtain a Masters of Medicine from the University of Sydney and a Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatologists as part of his post-graduate qualifications. As part of his specialist training, Dr Kho underwent further training at Canberra Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Skin and Cancer Foundations at Darlinghurst and Westmead, Concord Repatriation General Hospital, Westmead Adults Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He has completed training rotations in rurally based clinics in Wagga Wagga, Kiama, Nowra, and Wollongong.

Dr Kho has also published in a number of peer-reviewed international journals including the Journal of the American Medical Association Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology, International Journal of Women’s Dermatology, and the Hong Kong Journal of Dermatology and Venerology. He has been first author in several book chapters and has presented at local and international conferences, including the annual scientific meetings of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, American Academy of Dermatology, Australian Wound Management Association, Australasian Society for Dermatology Research, and the Australasian Dermatopathology Society.

Associate Professor Sebaratnam is a specialist adult and paediatric dermatologist. He is proficient in all aspects of medical, surgical, paediatric and laser dermatology.

Associate Professor Deshan Sebaratnam completed his Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery at the University of New South Wales, graduating with Honours. While completing his residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, he also completed his Master of Medicine. As part of his dermatology training with the Australasian College of Dermatologists, he was chosen to complete a Fellowship at St. John’s Institute for Dermatology in London.

After becoming a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, Associate Professor Sebaratnam went on to complete the Sydney Children’s Hospitals’ Network Fellowship in Paediatric Dermatology. Over a period of two years Associate Professor Sebaratnam attended Paediatric Dermatology clinics at Sydney Children’s Hospital, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid and The University of California San Francisco under the tutelage of international experts in the field.

He has a strong interest in teaching and research and is a Conjoint Associate Professor with the University of New South Wales. He has published over 100 research papers in international medical journals and has presented at conferences around the world. He is interested in all areas of dermatology including skin cancer, acne and psoriasis. He is a consultant dermatologist at Liverpool Hospital

Dr Matthew Lin

Dr Matthew Lin

Specialist Dermatologist, Mohs Surgeon

MD, FACD,FACMS

Dr Matthew Lin is a dermatologist with a special interest in the treatment of skin cancer with Mohs surgery. Dr Lin obtained his medical degree from the University of Melbourne and his specialist qualification from the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He completed a fellowship in advanced dermatologic surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He completed a second fellowship in Mohs surgery before being appointed to the hospital faculty at Mount Sinai.
Dr Lin is actively involved in clinical and translational research and has received grants and awards for his academic work. His current research is focused on improving patient outcomes in Mohs surgery. As part of his academic activities he serves on the editorial board for Dermatologic Surgery, the official publication of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
He enjoys teaching and has authored several textbook chapters on surgical anatomy and procedural dermatology. He currently supervises training doctors and medical students at The Skin Hospital and The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Dr Parastoo Paris Banan

Dr Banan is a passionate specialist dermatologist who is fully trained in all aspects of medical and surgical dermatology. She provides care in all areas of medical (e.g. acne, rosacea, eczema, skin cancer surveillance and mole check, skin eruptions, hair and nail disease, oral and genital conditions, paediatric dermatology) and surgical
(e.g. skin cancers) dermatology and has an interest in cosmetics.

Dr Banan completed her fellowship from the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD) in New South Wales. As part of her dermatology training with the Australasian College of Dermatologists, she worked at different public and private hospitals including Royal North Shore Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Westmead adults Hospital, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead as well as The Skin Hospital in Darlinghurst and Westmead. She also had clinics in rural areas such as Coffs Harbour, Griffith, Wyong, Bowral, Bourke and Brewarrina. This gave her a wide range of experience in Medical, Surgical, Paediatric and Cosmetic Dermatology.

Dr Banan finished her internship and residency in Queensland and worked at large tertiary hospitals such as Princess Alexandra Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital and Gold Coast Hospital. She used to assist with Dermatology Outreach Clinics for aboriginal communities of North Queensland before moving to New South Wales in 2016.

Dr Charlotte Thomas

Specialist Dermatologist

Dr Charlotte Thomas is a specialist consultant dermatologist and Fellow of The Australasian College of Dermatologists.

She completed her medical and physician training in London, UK following 1st Class Honours Degrees in Psychology, Physiology and Philosophy from Oxford University and Medicine from the University of Bristol.

During her 4 years of specialist training with the Australasian College of Dermatologists she worked at St Vincent’s, Royal Prince Alfred and Liverpool Hospitals. She was awarded the Ken Paver Medal for Medical Dermatology and ACD travelling Fellowship for overall first place in her Fellowship exams.

Charlotte has completed research and clinical trials into new treatments for psoriasis, eczema and skin cancers. She has over 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at national and international meetings.

She holds a locum position at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where she enjoys teaching dermatology trainees.

Charlotte combines up to date evidence-based practice with a warm patient-focused style. Outside of medicine she enjoys keeping fit through cycling and swimming

Dr Cathy Zhao

Dr Cathy Zhao is a Specialist Dermatologist passionate about medical dermatology and providing holistic patient care.

Cathy completed her medical degree and a Master of Science by research (with Scholarship) from the University of NSW, in addition to a Master of Medicine from the University of Sydney.

Cathy was selected for an Oncodermatology research fellowship at Westmead Hospital, where she spent two years running the High-Risk Melanoma Clinic.

Cathy completed her four-year specialist dermatology training at Westmead Hospital, Westmead Children’s Hospital, Concord Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital, amongst others. Cathy had participated in various subspeciality dermatology clinics including Eczema clinic, Hidradenitis Suppurativa clinic, Severe Psoriasis clinic, Lymphoma clinic, Vulval clinic, Paediatric Dermatology clinic, Vitiligo clinic, Biologics clinic and Surgery clinic.

Cathy is a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney. She has authored over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, was invited to speak at international conferences, and authored dermatology textbooks. She was nominated for Young Australian Woman of the Year for her dedication to teaching, research and community work.

Dr Priyamvada Sobarun

is a New Zealand and Australian- trained dermatologist. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Her interests are in medical dermatology (rashes), skin checks, biologics, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, minor procedures, to name but a few.

Dr Sobarun obtained her medical degree at the University of Cape Town in 2005. She moved to New Zealand in 2007 and gained experience in a wide range of medical and surgical specialties as a resident medical officer. She went through the physician training programme in NZ which led to advanced training in Dermatology. Her overseas training was completed in various academic centres in Brisbane and Sydney. She gained valuable clinical and translational research experience at the renowned Dermatology Research Centre, University of Queensland where she worked on cutting-edge research on actinic keratosis, non-melanoma skin cancer, melanoma and the microbiopsy.

Dr Sobarun previously worked as a Staff Specialist at Auckland City Hospital between 2018 and 2022 where she ran her own clinics and was heavily involved in the supervision of dermatology registrars and medical students. She was affiliated with the University of Auckland as an Honorary Academic. She has published in peer-reviewed international journals and DermnetNZ. She has also served as a reviewer for the Australasian Journal of Dermatology and New Zealand Medical Journal.

Dr Sobarun is known for her caring, empathetic and holistic approach and looks forward to serving the community.
